Day 19 - Disrespecting your parents
Alrighty my viewpoint on parents, this is gonna be fun. But before I begin, ladies and gentlemen two pictures of my mom and dad.
Well first off in any Asian culture respecting your elders is held/regarded very highly. So as you can see from right there disrespecting my parents comes as a cultural no no. My parents raised me that way too and for good reason, no matter who you are you should respect your parents. They're the ones who have provided and taken care of you for x-amount of years.
Now however I don't always give my parents the proper respect. I become short with them, sarcastic, and downright disrespectful to them. Its in those moments that I either make my mom sad or frustrate my father (and at times to a very high extent that makes him angry). Those moments when I've had it with my parents all respect goes out the window; however due to being ingrained to always respect my elders, I can most of the time hide my disrespect by only using choice words or not saying anything at all. My brothers are less adept at this unfortunately and so outbursts come from them more than myself.
But going back to the subject I see it wrong to disrespect them no matter what. Yes you can get frustrated, annoyed, or mad at your parents but you should always respect them. They deserve it as do every one of us.
